MLM Today Reader Poll #2
There is a new poll question posted. You will find the poll located at the top of the sidebar to the right.
This poll question builds from the responses given from the last poll. In the MLM Today Reader Poll #1, 42% of those that answered select "High Quality, Exclusive Products" as being most important when choosing an MLM.
In that vein, the question in this poll is:
"As a networker, which product segment is most attractive for you to sell?"
I will post periodic updates as the votes tally up.
Thanks for playing everybody.

Well, I work with a company that has high quality exclusive products in the top 4 catagories. I am glad I do not have to choose.

Mark,
There are a few companies that provide a "Me-Mart" selection of products but I have found that certain product segments are more attractive than others to those that are trying to market them. Tele-com and professional services may put some people off as there may be more technical expertise required (at least in the mind of the marketer).
Nutritional products have dominated MLM in the past dozen years or so (based on new start-ups) coupled with people like Paul Zane Pilzer outlining major expansion with baby-boomer demographics.
Traditional marketing in the area of household and personal care products have found a method to beat the "concentrate" advantage promoted by MLM - such as Costco and Sam's Club with their respective house brands.
Dave,
I agree if you are selling the same brands or quality that a consumer can purchase locally, it will not work. Others have tried and failed. On the other hand if you can provide personal care, nutricinal, and household products that out perform, are safer due to lack of toxic chemicals, exclusive, and are less expensive than the discount store brands, then I believe you have a winner.
Mark
